DSS Reveals Adamawa REC Allegedly Collected N2 Billion To Rig Gov Election For Binani

Aisha Binani, a candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), is alleged to have been declared the winner of the governorship election in Adamawa State by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Hudu Yunusa.

According to SaharaReporters, a Department of State Services (DSS) officer said that Yunusa received N2 billion in compensation.

Recall that the REC pronounced Binani the winner on Sunday despite not having finished tallying the results of the supplemental election.

However, INEC revoked the REC’s declaration and ordered him to appear at the organization’s headquarters.

According to the platform, a DSS representative said in a video that the REC paid N2 billion to proclaim Binani the winner.

The DSS employee added that he led a team to arrest the REC while denying being a part of the fraud.

The official identified as Isa said, “I told you while we were in the car that the REC collected money running into billions of naira to rig the election. I don’t know the exact amount but let’s put it at N2 billion.”

When asked what he was doing around the REC’s place he said, “I swear to God I didn’t collude with him in the bribery; I was detailed with my team to arrest him instead.”
