President Muhammadu Buhari’s actions while visiting Mecca in Saudi Arabia have been made public by Isa Pantami, Nigeria’s minister of communications and the digital economy.

According to news reports, Buhari traveled to the Arab nation last week on business and for spiritual reasons. His assistants had earlier sent pictures of him to other Muslim Ummahs who were praying in the holy land.

Speaking about the President’s travels, Pantami said that Buhari, eight years after taking office in 2015, prayed and thanked Allah in the holy land for upholding his administration and its success.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) leader is anticipated to take the oath of office on May 29, as was previously scheduled.

However, Pantami on Sunday informed reporters that Buhari “maintained that the spread of true knowledge of the religion of Islam is the most important task now facing global Muslims” while at the Museum in Mecca.

The International Fair, the Museum of the Prophet’s Biography, and the Islamic Civilization in the city were among the historic religious sites that Buhari and his aides attended as part of their engagement there.

In addition, he stated that before leaving for Mecca via Jeddah late on Wednesday for the shorter pilgrimage, Buhari observed the five daily prayers and Taraweeh at the Masjid Nabawi.

When the president arrived at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, he completed Umrah procedures there with the help of his advisors, some traditional leaders, and religious figures under strict protection.

“The president, on April 11, saluted leading businessman and philanthropist Aliko Dangote as he marked his 66th birthday, wishing him a long, healthy life and a joyful year ahead.

It was also revealed that Buhari visited Aminu Dantata, the patriarch of the Dantata family and an elder statesman, on Friday in Saudi Arabia and offered him his condolences for the loss of his wife, Rabi Dantata.

Recall that on April 9 at a hospital in Saudi Arabia, the Kano-based businessman lost his wife. Buhari earlier expressed sorrow for Ms. Dantata’s passing in a statement made by his spokeswoman, Garba Shehu.

The Nigerian president, however, took advantage of the visit to express his condolences to the Dantata family once more for Ms. Dantata’s passing.

The president declared that the deceased would be honored for her philanthropy and kindness.
