Ahmadu Fintiri, the PDP’s nominee for governor, has been formally recognized as the victor of the Adamawa State governor’s race by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This comes days after the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Aisha Binani was declared the victor by the contentious Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Hudu Yunusa Ari.

However, INEC canceled the REC pronouncement in a statement issued through Festus Okoye.

Among those present at the collation center were Prof. Mohammed Mele, the returning officer, and Festus Okoye, National Commissioner, Information and Voter Education Committee.

After receiving the most votes, Fintiri was declared the winner of the race and re-elected as the governor of the state.

The PDP candidate won reelection after defeating thirteen other contenders for governor in the state.
