Ogwu Favour, a minor, was charged with assault resulting in bodily harm on Tuesday and was brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.

In the Iganmu region of the state, the defendant is accused of assaulting a youngster named Chukwuma Nwali by hitting him over the right eye with a stool.

Favour was charged with two counts of assault that are somewhat related after being arraigned before Magistrate O.O. Adeosun.

Inspector Hycent Agada, the police prosecutor, informed the court that the defendant committed the crime on April 16, 2023.

The charge read, “That you, Ogwu Favour, on April 16, 2023, around 1pm at No.15 Orowunmi Street, Orile Iganmu in the Lagos State Magisterial District did assault one Chukwuma Nwali by using a stool to inflict serious injury on his right eye which caused him bodily harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

The Magistrate, Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N60, 000 with sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till May 16, 2023, for mention.
