On Wednesday morning, a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle was set on fire after colliding with a commercial bus and killing the driver.

On the Oworonshoki Expressway’s Ifako Bridge, which leads into Ogudu, there was an accident.

The deceased motorist was seen on the ground with his car upside down in the posted footage.

According to a witness, the bus was carrying people from Lagos Island who were on their way to the state’s Ojodu Berger region at the time of the tragedy.

The driver passed away instantaneously, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), while some passengers suffered just minor wounds.

It said, “An accident at Ifako inwards Ogudu Bridge involving a BRT Bus and a commercial Bus. One Casualty on ground with others injured.”

The BRT bus was promptly set ablaze by local thugs, the report added, causing a jam.

Adebayo Taofik, a LASEMA spokeswoman, added that LASTMA officials were on the ground directing traffic to facilitate movement.

He added that traffic cops had been sent out to guarantee the expressway’s smooth operation.
