Dr Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Ondo state, has urged Nigerians to put the principles of Ramadan into practise and show compassion to the less fortunate.

His statement came as Muslims around the world celebrated Eid-el-Fitr this year.
Mimiko noted in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications, John Paul Akinduro, that the pleasant occasion of Eid provides another opportunity to renew kinship and peace links, as well as display tolerance and sympathy towards one another.

While wishing Muslims a joyous Eid-el-Fitr, the former governor prayed for God’s unending blessings on Nigeria and its people.

“As we exchange gifts and feast on special meals with our loved ones, let us remember that
eid-el-fitr is also a time for forgiveness, kindness, and compassion; a time to make peace with all neighbours, relatives and friends, and resolve differences. By so doing, we will be building a stronger, virile and enduring nation,” he said.
