Police Begin Manhunt For Killers Of Imo Officers, Couple

The Okpala intersection is in the Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state. According to the Imo State Police command, five of its agents and a couple were killed there.

The ANAEDOONLINE reported that unidentified gunmen opened fire on five police officers who were eating at a nearby restaurant on Friday morning, killing all of them, and then took their firearms with them.

A couple named Mr. and Mrs. Chinaka Nwagu, who ran a store next to the crime scene, was also killed by the attackers.

According to the state’s police spokesperson, who confirmed the horrifying murder to our correspondent,

Henry Okoye, said that the command’s Tactical and Operational Teams had been deployed to the area

Okoye said that the command was on the trail of the suspects, adding that security had been beefed up in the area to increase public confidence.

The command’s spokesperson said, “The murder incident is confirmed. The command has deployed Tactical and Operational Teams of the command to the area for constant patrol and in search of those behind this dastardly act. We are closing in on them.

“The corpses of the operatives have been evacuated and deposited in a morgue. I urge members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without fear and or intimidation as the command is capable of protecting the people of the state.”
