Atiku Salutes Iwuanyanwu After Emergence As Ohanaeze President-General

Elder statesman Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has been congratulated by Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, on becoming President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

Iwuanyanwu reportedly took Prof. George Obiozor’s seat, according to news reports.

On Wednesday at the Government House in Owerri, a delegation from the Imo Elders Council, led by its chairman HRM Eze (Dr.) Cletus Ilomuanya, gave the governor of the Imo State Iwuanyanwu.

In response, Atiku stated on his Twitter page that Iwuanyanwu is supremely qualified and positioned to serve as the head of the Ndigbo organization.

“I urge him to use his good office to strengthen national integration and Igbo unity in a manner that has not been seen since after the Nigerian civil war.

“I am optimistic that Chief Iwuanyanwu will make the desired impact, considering his political grit and sagacity, and as one whose aura and influence reverberates across the length and breadth of Nigeria.”
