The Lamidi Apapa-led faction has been referred to by the Labour Party (LP) as vermin that have overrun the organization.

Remember that on April 5th, Justice Hamza Muazu enjoined Julius Abure, Farouk Ibrahim, Clement Ojukwu, and Oluchi Opara from serving as national officers of the party.

Apapa, the party’s Deputy Chairman South, assumed leadership of the party as a result of the court decision.

Martins Esikpali John, Lucky Shaibu, Isah Zekeri, Omogbai Frank, Abokhaiu Aliu, Ayohkaire Lateef, John Elomah, and Ayobami Arabambi were among the plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

The court has set a decision date of May 12 for the application.

According to the interim National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, Abure and other national party officers are not interested in Apapa’s coveted out-of-court settlement, in reaction to media rumors that the parties to the case are discussing one.

He claimed that the Apapa group came up with the idea for an out-of-court settlement.

Ifoh charged Apapa with spreading false information, fabrications, and propaganda, claiming the group’s “camp went to town with a statement implying that the court upheld a restraining order against Abure and some other executive members of the party.” Additionally, it stated that a settlement plan outside of court had been reached.

“But we are certainly not interested in their back-hand approach to peace. We would rather prefer to see the end of the matter in court because all their claims can neither be proved nor substantiated. We are comforted by the fact that truth will always prevail at last.”

He said the Apapa group is filled with “mercantile personalities and a bunch of hustlers who are very well compromised and working and will do anything for their paymasters.”

The LP spokesman alleged that the group, through their recent activities, show “they are hirelings compromised by our political opponents to put spanners in the work of progress going on in the party.
