Omoyele Sowore, the AAC’s presidential candidate, called for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to be released on Thursday.
In response to Kanu’s appeal hearing before the Supreme Court today, Sowore made this call.
Kanu is appealing his ongoing detention at the Department of State Services (DSS) facility in Abuja, according to earlier news reports.
Panic As Supreme Court Hears Nnamdi Kanu’s Appeal Today
On November 3rd, 2022, the IPOB leader filed an appeal against the Court of Appeal’s ruling from October 28th.
The appeal court had decided against carrying out its earlier decision exonerating Kanu of all charges and ordering his release from the secret police’s custody.
Sowore urged the Supreme Court to release Kanu in a tweet on his Twitter account.
In his appeal, the presidential hopeful urged Nigeria’s Supreme Court to show bravery and free the IPOB commander.
Sowore urged the supreme court to put an end to President Muhammadu Buhari disobeying court orders with impunity.
