10th NASS: We’ve Not Zoned Leadership Positions – APC

According to the All Progressives Congress, APC, the 10th National Assembly’s leadership roles have not been allotted by the current party in power.

This information was revealed in a statement sent by the party’s national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, on Thursday evening.

He asserted that the party did not issue any reports to the contrary and added that any decisions made in that regard will be made public.

Morka noted: “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to versions of zoning arrangements for the 10th National Assembly leadership positions in circulation in sections of social media.

“The information did not emanate from the Party and should be disregarded.

“To be clear, the Party has yet to zone positions of leadership of the 10th National Assembly. Any decisions made in that regard will be duly communicated via the Party’s official information channels.”

In the meanwhile, the South-South would be the zone for the Senate President, barring any unforeseen changes.

Newsmen learned that the North-West would get the job of Deputy Senate President.

The office of Speaker would be assigned to the North-West, while the South-West would produce Deputy Speaker, according to a source who wished to remain anonymous.

According to the source, the president-elect now favors Senator Godswill Akpabio to succeed him as Senate President, with Jibril Barau serving as Deputy Senate President.

According to the source, discussions and meetings would continue to be held to guarantee that a zoning formula that is acceptable to all parties is obtained.

He said: “The North Central may likely produce the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

“The Senate President will be zoned to South-south, the Deputy Senate President will be zoned to North-West. The Speaker will be zoned to North-West and the South-west is being considered for Deputy Speaker. Discussion will continue.”
