Reno Omokri, a former presidential adviser, has praised Labour Party (LP) supporters, sometimes known as the “Obidients,” in light of the significant turnout at the 2023 presidential election.

In an interview with ARISE TV on Sunday, April 30, 2023, Reno reportedly claimed that what the “Obidents” done for Peter Obi should be respected.

He said that if the LP presidential candidate Peter Obi had remained in the party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would have won the 2023 election.

Reno Omokri, a former press secretary for the president, has cautioned the Labour Party (LP) against casting doubt on the legitimacy of Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate.

In response to the internal party crisis caused by a leadership dispute, Reno made this statement.

According to Newsmen, Bashir Apapa, the factional chairman of the LP, ruled that Peter Obi is unfit to serve as president and that the party’s Asaba National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting was therefore unlawful.

In addition, he claimed that the LP flag bearer had exposed him as disobeying the Abuja Federal High Court ruling that had upheld the ban on the Labour Party’s national chairman and three other individuals from acting in an official capacity on behalf of the Party.

In response to the party’s internal turmoil on Wednesday, Omokri said the factional leaders needed to acknowledge Obi’s sacrifice for the party’s transformation in less than a year.

He maintained that the sacrifice made by the former governor of Anambra State was sufficient for the LP factional leaders to forget his mistakes.
