Before Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is sworn in as the new president of Nigeria on May 29, 2023, the Boeing 737 presidential jet has been flown abroad for extensive maintenance.
The jet was transported abroad during the weekend, according to reports that Anaedoonline.ng was able to get on Sunday.
The 20-year-old NAF 001 will be returned in May and given to the new administration following significant improvements to its avionics and other mechanical components, according to presidential residence sources cited by The Punch.

President Muhammadu Buhari will travel on a different plane from the Presidential Air Fleet during the coming weeks before the country is handed over to a new leader, the source added.
Although the location of the maintenance is still unknown, the aircraft’s manufacturer, Boeing, has previously performed maintenance on it in the United States of America.
