King Charles III Coronation: President Buhari Departs For London

Later today, on May 3, President Muhammadu Buhari will leave for London, United Kingdom, along with other prominent figures from around the world who have been invited to Charles III and Camilla’s coronation as His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort of the United Kingdom, respectively.

The coronation will happen on May 6th, a Saturday.

The Commonwealth Summit for Presidents and Heads of Government of Commonwealth countries will be held on May 5 in London as the Commonwealth Secretariat takes advantage of the gathering of world leaders ahead of the coronation.

The Summit, which will discuss the Future of the Commonwealth and the Role of the Youth, is scheduled to include participation from President Buhari.

According to a statement made available to Newsmen on Wednesday by the special assistant on media and publicity to the President, Femi Adesina, Buhari will be accompanied by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj.-Gen Babagana Monguno (Rtd), the Director General, National Intelligence Agency, (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Chairperson/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa and other senior government officials.
