Nigerians have been asked to accept the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s decision, whenever it is made, in good faith.
This is because the election petition tribunal’s hearing is set to begin on May 8.
According to Newsmen, it was in light of this that a former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd), urged Nigerians to accept the court’s decision when it was rendered.
On Thursday, Gowon presented this argument at a conference honoring Justice Chike Idigbe, a former justice of the supreme court.

The former president of Nigeria asserts that the court’s ruling should be regarded as final since it is essential to maintaining national cohesion.
He also urged Nigerians to refrain from interfering with the judiciary’s ability to conduct its job.
Recall that Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the presidential candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), respectively, had disputed the election’s results.
Bola Tinubu, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate who is currently the president-elect, received 8.8 million votes, followed by Atiku with 6.9 million and Obi with 6.1 million votes plus 15 others.
