Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential nominee for the Labour Party, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and Chief Justice of Nigeria Olukayode Ariwoola to skip the inauguration of president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is scheduled for May 29, 2023.
He made the decision during a recent Channels TV interview.
According to Baba-Ahmed, swearing in a ticket that has not yet complied with constitutional standards amounted to the abolition of democracy.

The contender for the LP vice presidency claimed that it was foolish of INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu to have given Tinubu a certificate of return.
He referred to Tinubu’s election as the president-elect’s process as “unconstitutional.”
Baba-Ahmed said, “Swearing in a ticket that has not met the constitutional requirements of the constitution is ending democracy. And I’m repeating it, whoever does not meet the constitutional requirements must never be sworn in.
“I’m repeating, swearing in anybody who does not meet the constitutional requirements of our country, you are engaging in an unconstitutional act. Mr. President, do not hold that inauguration. CJN, your lordship, do not partake in unconstitutionality.”
