Burundi’s First Lady Ndayishimiye Elected 10th President Of African First Ladies

Monday in Abuja saw the election of Mrs. Angelina Ndayishimiye, the First Lady of Burundi, as the organization’s tenth president.

This information was provided in a statement that was given by Dr. Victoria Ogala, the Special Assistant to Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the departing President of the AFLPM, according to NAN.

Ogala revealed the election took place during a private meeting of the mission’s 10th General Assembly Summit in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.
She said that Ndayishimiye was chosen as the vice president of the AFLPM with Mrs. Khadijah Bazoum, the first lady of the Niger Republic.

NAN said she also informed the gathering that the executives of AFLPM had unanimously appointed the outgoing President, Aisha Buhari, as the Chairperson, the Board of Trustees of the AFLPM.

Ndayishimiye, newly elected president was born in 1976 and has been the First Lady of Burundi since June 18, 2020.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Management, President of the Good Action Foundation and is blessed with six children.
