Sam Amadi, the director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, asserted that the South-East is fine with the list of National Assembly principal officials that the All Progressives Congress, APC, has accepted.

Amadi made this declaration in a post on his Twitter account on Monday.

His remarks came after the APC released a list of its recognized National Assembly key officers.

“Speaker, House of Representatives North West – Hon. Abbas Tajudeen (Kaduna); Deputy Speaker (South East), Hon. Ben Kalu (Abia).”

Senator Orji Kalu and Governor Dave Umahi of the Ebonyi State appear to be excluded as a result of the most recent development. The pair had intended to secure the position by claiming that the South-East zone was about to make its move.

The South-East responded to the APC’s zoning, according to the public affairs analyst, by declaring “we don’t want distraction.” We are erecting a bridge.

His remark is thought to be in response to comments made by prominent politicians from the region during the 2023 presidential race that Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP was wasting his time and that the South-East was not ready for the position.

Amadi wrote, “People in Southeast seem to like the APC list of endorsed principal officers of NASS. They are saying ‘we don’t want distraction. We are building bridges’.

“I think @OfficialAPCNg shows better deliberateness in their zoning than the others. Be quick and clear any how you want to do it.”
