The saying that every day is for the thief, but one day is for the owner of the house came true today, Friday 12 May 2023, at a mechanic Shop near Obi Nnewichi palace in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
A 30 year old man who identified himself as Chinedu (most probably a fake name) from Abia State was caught red-handed with stolen car batteries.
According to an eyewitness who didn’t want his name mentioned told Anaedoonline.ng that the alleged robber was caught this morning as at 6:30 am with some car battery along the road were he was probably waiting for his gang to transport the stolen items.

When interviewed by Anaedoonline correspondence, Chinedu revealed that he’s a yahoo guy who was asked by his friends namely, Arusi, Chimezie to get scrabs they bought from a friend in Nnewi.
He revealed they came a day before and camped at an uncompleted building close to their targetted mechanic shop.
The operation started at midnight as revealed by the suspect without hitch but their waterloo started when a boy saw them and suspected fowl play signalled the ever present, gallant Nnewichi community vigilante.
The Nnewichi community vigilante led by Mr. Chieloka Ubajekwe arrested the alleged thief with the stolen items who said his gang members went to get a shuttle bus to transport the stolen items.

The suspect was later moved away from the crime scene after due investigations has been conducted by the community vigilante group.
