Dr. Josef Onoh, who served as President-elect Bola Tinubu’s south-eastern campaign spokesman, has advised the Department of State Security (DSS) to make sure that Dr. Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), does not travel outside of Nigeria for any study leave.
According to Newsmen, there have been claims that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) intends to escape Nigeria under the premise of a study leave in order to do so before President-elect Bola Tinubu takes office on May 29.
According to the accusations, Tinubu may avenge Emefiele for attempting to harm his campaign with the naira redesign strategy.

The CBN governor’s departure for a study leave, according to presidential spokesman Garba Shehu, was not known to the administration, and he declined to comment further.
In response to the rumors, Onoh maintained that the DSS must do all in its power to prevent Emefiele from leaving the nation, regardless of the veracity of the allegations.
Onoh said: “I’m telling the DSS that whether the study leave is true or not, it should ensure that Emefiele does not leave Nigeria. If Emefiele wants to get a study leave, we have credible universities in Nigeria that are willing to grant him admission where he can do his study leave and these universities are ready to comply with CBN regulations regarding money transfers and payment modes to the institution of his choice in order for him to process his admission and they also accept the new redesigned naira notes as form of payment for admissions fees too.”
