Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president in the 2023 elections, has disclosed that he once criticized the All Progressives Congress, or APC, for not running vice president Yemi Osinbajo for president.

The former governor of Anambra stated the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, would have made a fantastic candidate if he had run 20 years ago during his speech at Dele Momodu’s 63rd birthday celebration on Tuesday.

The Labour Party candidate claimed that he ran for president of the country because he wanted to see it prosper.

“I even confronted APC, asking why didn’t you bring Osinbajo. Let’s have a place to work for everybody so that we have people who want to work for the country and are healthy and good.”

Tinubu defeated Osinbajo and the other contenders for the party’s presidential nomination in June 2022.
