Following the collapse of the bridge on the road, drivers and commuters using the Asaba-Kwale-Warri Road in Delta State are currently having a difficult time getting to their destinations.

ANAEDOONLINE Metro learned that passengers and drivers were trapped in the Ogwashi-Uku-Kwale axis as a result of the collapse.
Before it fell apart on Monday night, our correspondent learned that the bridge, which was still being built, was nearly finished.

When our writer visited the scene on Tuesday, CCECC authorities declined to comment, thus the cause of the fall remained still a mystery.

However, our reporter noticed stuck drivers on both sides of the crumbled bridge.

Some commuters were also seen resorting to trekking across the collapsed bridge to join other vehicles that were equally stranded on that side of the bridge to continue their journey.

Efforts made to reach the State Commissioner for Works, Mr Noel Omodon, for comment, failed as calls put across to him were not responded to as of the time of filing this report.

It was, however, gathered that the commissioner had earlier inspected the collapsed bridge.

Meanwhile, motorists and commuters travelling to Kwale, Ozoro, Ughelli and Warri from Asaba had been advised to use alternative routes.
