The initiative to reconcile former PDP Deputy National Chairman Bode George with President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been praised by the pan-Yoruba sociopolitical group Afenifere.

According to news reports, some Yoruba elders visited George over the weekend at his home in Ikoyi, Lagos State, to ask for his support for the incoming president.

A retired judge from Lagos State named Justice Isola Olorunmibe (rtd), a former deputy governor from Lagos named Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, and the head of Lagos State’s Governance Advisory Council named Tajudeen Olusi are a few of the leaders.

Omololu praised and justified the visit to the PDP chieftain, calling it evidence of the promotion of Yoruba sons and daughters’ unity.

Regardless of political beliefs, he asserted that a united Yoruba land would significantly contribute to the achievement of the desired outcomes of a true federation, devolution of power, state police, and fiscal federalism.

He said, “We in Afenifere, we are very delighted about the visit of the elders in the land to one of the elders in the (Chief George, the Atona of the source – Ile Ife). The elders saw it as an aberration for two prominent Yoruba sons to be having a misunderstanding and the elders in the land to be folding arms and watching and doing nothing.
