I Regret Supporting Tambuwal To Become Speaker In The 7th NASS – Gbajabiamila

The outgoing governor of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal, was supported by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who has now expressed sorrow for doing so.

According to news sources, Gbajabiamila, the current Speaker of the 9th National Assembly, remarked, “I regret it,” after reflecting on how he had backed Tambuwal for the position.

His submission was made on Wednesday at the Joint Task – 10th meeting at Transcorp in Abuja.

This platform previously reported that Senator Godswill Akpabio, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the position of 10th Senate President, met with Gbajabiamila and faction members of the Opposition Parties in the 10th Assembly on Wednesday night.

The meeting was requested by the Joint Task of the 10th Assembly, a collection of representatives-elect from several political parties that gained seats in the national assembly.

The major objective of the gathering was to encourage cooperation between all factional returning members and other members-elect who back the candidates the All Progressives Congress (APC) has selected for Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

When the Speaker indicated that he regretted supporting Tambuwal as Speaker for the 7th Assembly, he was recalling how the opposition caucus had previously attempted to oppose the consensus choices of the APC.

Tajudeen Abbas and Benjamin Kalu, the consensus candidates of the party for the office of Speaker of the 10th National Assembly, were reportedly accepted by the opposition caucus.
