At 9am on Friday the 19th of May, the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) permanent site will be officially commissioned by President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR at Nnewi, Anambra State.
As NAUTH prepares for grand opening of it’s permanent site, the board and management of the hospital invites the public to the highly anticipated ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Equally part of the grand opening is the commissioning of Sustainable Development Goal Projects. The day will also mark the ground breaking ceremony of Igwe Orizu International ICT centre.

The newly built medical hub located at akammili, Nnewi, is a state of the art facility that seeks to promote advanced medical treatments in Nigeria. Some of the facilities to be commissioned as highlighted by Mrs. M.C. Onwuka (JP), Head, Corporate Affairs Department, NAUTH, Nnewi, includes the speciality building, medical ward complex, accident and emergency complex, mother and child centre, trauma ward, special treatment centre, molecular laboratory, paediatric emergency building, surgical ward complex, diagnostic centre, oxygen plant, and cryogenic oxygen production unit, amongst others.
Spearheaded by the Chief Medical Director, NAUTH, Dr. Joseph O. Ugboaja, great personalities within Anambra state and beyond will grace the occasion. To include; The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo CFR as the special guest of honour, Her excellency, Adejoke Orelope- Adefulire, Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs is the distinguished guest. The chief host remains Chief Ezekiel Irmiya E. Afukonyo, who is the chairman, Board of management, NAUTH.
Other top Personalities who are guest of honour include; Dr. Ehanire Osagie; Honorable minister of Health. Hon. Joseph Ekumankama. Honourable Minister of state for health. Hon. Dr. Paschal Chiagozie Obi; Chairman house committee on health institutions. Mr. Ben Akabueze, DG, Budget office.
