On Monday, the Presidential Election Petition Court denied Labour’s request for permission to broadcast the court proceedings live on television along with its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Justice Tsammani stated, “The application lacks merit and is hereby dismissed.”
The Justice emphasized that live broadcasting needs to be planned for and budgeted for and cannot be done on the fly while making allusions to other nations.

He asserted that the PEP court cannot approve such a request in the absence of the required framework or policies because such a request is never approved without regulations enabling it to take effect.
In a unanimous decision of the five-man panel, the court dismissed the application.
