Ahead of May 29, Tinubu Receives Former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair

President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Tuesday at the Defense House in Abuja in advance of Monday’s inauguration.

Through his official Twitter account, Tinubu made this announcement.

The incoming president claimed that his conversation with Tony Blair on topics of interest to both men was productive.

“I received former British Prime Minister and founder Tony Blair Institute for Good Governance, Mr Tony Blair, at the Defence House, Abuja, earlier today. We discussed areas of mutual interests and how Nigeria can continue to benefit from the amazing work of the Institute,” he wrote.

Among those present for Blair’s visit were the incoming vice president, Kasim Shettima, and the speaker of the house of representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The Tony Blair Institute for Good Governance was founded by Blair.

The inauguration of Tinubu is scheduled for May 29.

There was a list of delegations that the US President Joe Biden had released that will attend the event in Abuja.
