Different responses have followed the announcement of the American presidential delegation’s attendance at Bola Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29 in Abuja.

Earlier, news outlets reported that US President Joe Biden had revealed a nine-person delegation for the occasion in a statement posted on the White House website on May 22.

According to the statement, the group, which will be led by Marcia L. Fudge, secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, is a symbol of the US government’s commitment to maintaining goodwill and relationships with Nigeria.

However, some All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters celebrated the announcement on the microblogging website Twitter and made fun of rival party supporters at the same time.

The announcement of the mission, according to supporters of the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), does not represent the US government’s endorsement of Tinubu’s victory.
