Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, urgently needs ear surgery.
Aloy Ejimakor, the secessionist’s special counsel, announced this on Thursday night in a tweet from his official account.
The suggestion was made to Kanu by the Department of State Security Services’ (DSS) Medical Unit as a result of his growing health issue, the attorney claims.

Aloy claimed that Barr Mandela Umegborogu, one of his colleagues, was apprised of the incident when he paid Kanu a visit on Thursday at the DSS headquarters in Abuja.
The tweet reads, “Today, my colleague, Barr Mandela Umegborogu visited Onyendu #MNK at the DSS.
“He informs that Onyendu directed me to make it public that the DSS Medical Unit has recommended urgent ear SURGERY for him.
“But what remains is the formal approval of the DSS leadership”.
