Bashir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna state, confronted Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, for challenging his father to publish his asset declaration in 2015 and 2023.
Sani reportedly accused El-Rufai of leaving a significant debt for Kaduna State despite his claims that he never abused state cash, according to news sources.
Given that El-Rufai previously worked for Rotimi Amaechi, President Bola Tinubu’s opponent in the party primaries, he speculated that El-Rufai is anticipating a political assignment from Tinubu.

Sani went on to challenge the former governor to make the information on the papers he submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau in 2015 and 2023 publicly available.
In response, Bashir tweeted that Sani should continue the ongoing Twitter “war” amongst individuals who are his mates and not extend the same to his father..
He said, “Is this seriously how to talk to your senior? You should keep this Twitter gbas gbos between you & us, his children. We are the ones that are your mates”
