Kaduna Police Detain 503 Criminal Suspects

On Thursday, the Kaduna State Command paraded 503 individuals for a variety of crimes, including banditry, armed livestock rustling, culpable homicide, vandalism of rail tracks, and other connected offenses.
The state police command hosted the march.

Ismail Mohammed of Maijere Village Saminaka in the state’s Lere local government area, who had kidnapped and then killed his brother Kabiru Mohammed after receiving N120,000 in ransom from the family, was one of those who was paraded.

According to DSP Muhammed Jalige, the command’s spokesman, the suspects were detained between May and June 2023.

He explained that four AK47 rifles, three revolver pistols, two pump action guns, two thousand eight hundred (2,800) railway slippers, and nine stolen vehicles of different brands were recovered from the suspects.
Other recovered items include Two Tricycles, Two Hundred and nine Rounds of AK47 Live Ammunition, One Hundred and Twenty-Nine Rustled cattle, and Eight Sheep.

“Today, I am delighted to inform you that the Command within the last few weeks, in its onerous task of securing the lives and properties of law-abiding citizens of Kaduna State, has succeeded in arresting five Hundred and three (503) suspects for various crimes which include; armed Banditry, armed Robbery, handsets/handbags snatching, cattle rustling, culpable homicide, rape, shop breaking, theft, vandalization of rail tracks and other related crimes.

“During the investigation, a number of recoveries were made which include; four (4) AK47 Rifles, three (3) revolver Pistols, Two (2) pump action guns, two thousand eight hundred (2,800) railway slippers, Nine (9) motor- vehicles of different brands, two (2) tricycles, two hundred and nine (209) rounds of AK47 Live Ammunition, one hundred and twenty-nine (129) rustle cattle, eight (8) Sheep, two bags (2) of dry leaves,” he said

The police spokesman also said that the noticeable peace and tranquility currently enjoyed in Kaduna State is a pointer to the fact that the command is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to protect the lives and properties of the people of the state
He assured residents that the Kaduna Police Command is determined to ensure that criminal elements are denied the space to carry out their nefarious activities across the state.
