Twitter has imposed limits on users’ number of post reads each day in an effort to reduce data scraping and system manipulation.

Elon Musk, the platform’s Executive Chairman, confirmed this on Saturday via his Twitter handle.

He stated that the limits are only temporary.

The new restriction restricts verified accounts to viewing 6,000 posts per day, unverified accounts to 600 posts per day, and new unverified accounts to 300 posts per day.

Musk’s announcement was met with criticism, with many accusing the limits of being a ploy to get more people to subscribe to the Twitter blue badge.

According to Newsmen, Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, received harsh criticism last year after announcing a new subscription service for $7.99 per month.
