The website of the Ogun state government was hacked by hackers who claimed to be based in the Maldives.
The intrusion was discovered early on Wednesday.
The assailants described themselves as “Anon Ghost” and Aliester Crowley.
Under what looks to be the hackers’ emblem, a strong statement that reads, “We are Anon Ghost,” can be found on the website.
“We are legendary; forgive us not; forget us not; and prepare for us. by Aliester Crowley hacked. Make security updates! From the Maldives, greetings. The hackers posted a message on the website saying, “Find me on YouTube.
All of the website’s pages were likewise vandalized by the cyberattackers.

The Ogun state government had experienced hack attacks in the past. Similar to the most recent attack, cyberterrorists seized the website in 2015 and demanded that the state government upgrade its security.
Other Nigerian government websites that have also been hacked include the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and that of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
