According to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa is a mole for the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to the group, the agitator was educated by the DSS in 2016 and put into IPOB as a mole.
This was said in a news release issued by IPOB’s Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful.
According to news reports, Ekpa, who is based in Finland, has seized self-proclaimed leadership of IPOB since Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest in 2021 and later branded himself as the Prime Minister of the Biafra Government in Exile.

In the South Eastern region, the agitator has been in charge of issuing civil disobedience orders, often known as sit-at-home days.
Despite Ekpa’s assertions that his acts are intended to hasten Kanu’s release, IPOB has distanced itself from him.
Powerful, in a press release, disputed Ekpa’s authority inside IPOB and urged its members to reject him.
The organization questioned why the Nigerian government had made no diplomatic attempt to engage the Finnish government in relation to Ekpa’s activities.
