Nigerians have been urged to imbue themselves with the spirit of following court decisions by Senator Orji Kalu (APC-Abia).
This was said by Mr. Kalu, the National Assembly representative for Abia North, in a statement made on Friday in Abuja. He also added that adhering to court decisions would aid in establishing a just and equal society.

He criticized the ongoing disregard for court orders, adding that it was bad for the democracy of the nation.
I make a plea to all Nigerians, whether they work in the public or private sector, in the workforce or on the streets, to develop the practice of adhering to court decisions.

Everyone, no matter how high or low, will require the court at some point, according to Mr. Kalu.

The former governor of Abia said that the civility of a man began with obeying court orders whether it was favorable or unfavorable.
“For any democracy to thrive, respect for the law and human rights, as well as adherence to institutions established to shape the country are key.

“Flagrant disregard for any of these often weakens the rule of law and also threatens human rights,” Mr Kalu said.
Nigeria had in recent years recorded incessant disobedience of court orders by some government agencies.
