The well-known Nigerian comedian Charles Oputa, better known by his stage as Charly Boy, asserts that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has set September 16 as the deadline for ruling on the petitions contesting President Bola Tinubu’s election.

While Anaedoonline.ng cannot confirm the date with authority, the Constitution grants the Tribunal until September 16, 2023 (maximum 180 days from the filing of petitions) to rule on the petitions.

Both Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate for the February 25 election, had applications filed seeking the Tribunal to dismiss Tinubu over a number of charges.
