Sarafa Isola, Nigeria’s high commissioner to the UK, was ordered back on Friday by President Bola Tinubu.

The President’s decision was stated in a letter that Yusuf Tuggar, the Foreign Affairs Minister, signed.

The letter reads, “I have the honour to notify you of Mr President’s decision to recall you, signalling the end of your tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Kingdom.

Tuggar thanked the ambassador for his service and wished him luck in his future ambitions on behalf of the President.

In January 2021, Isola was named the high commissioner to the UK by the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Isola had previously served as the late former President Musa Yar’Adua’s minister for mines and steel development.
