Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, claims that the Department of State Service, or DSS, has refused to allow him to see guests of his choosing.

According to Kanu, the DSS’s actions breached a court order that was still in effect and gave him access to his guests.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s attorney, revealed this after their weekly meeting on Monday at the DSS headquarters in Abuja.

According to a statement made by Ejiofor, the DSS Director General, Yusuf Bichi, is the target of contempt proceedings launched by Kanu’s main attorney, Mike Ozekhome, for the denial.

The statement reads partly: “Recently, the personnel of the SSS have extended their acts of lawlessness by denying Onyendu access to visitors of his choice, in clear violation of a subsisting court order.

“However, our erudite Lead Counsel – Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN has swung into action by commencing contempt proceedings against the Director General of the SSS to demand immediate compliance with all the Court Orders that the SSS is currently violating with impunity.”
