Telecoms: Nigeria’s Voice Subscribers Hit 222m In Q1 — NBS

In the first quarter of 2023, Nigeria’s active voice customers climbed by 13.33 percent to 226,161,713 from 199,558,540 reported in Q1 2022.

Additionally, the data showed that from 145,851,496 recorded in Q1 2022, the overall number of active internet subscribers increased by 8.02 percent to 157,551,104.

This information was released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Thursday in its publication, “Telecoms Data: Active Voice and Internet per State, Porting, and Tariff Information (Q1 2023)”.

In the meantime, according to a state-by-state analysis, Lagos State, with 26,716,136 active voice customers, was followed by Ogun, with 13,241,205, and Kano, with 12,567,096.

However, Bayelsa had the lowest total (1,635,020), followed by Ebonyi and Ekiti (1,987,485) and 2,040,920, respectively.

In terms of active internet customers, Lagos State had the most (18,778,744), followed by Ogun (9,352,222), and Kano (8,680,524) in the first quarter of 2023.

Bayelsa had the lowest total (1,147,672), followed by Ebonyi (1,330,586) and Ekiti (1,474,604).
