Tragedy struck the village of Ayilamo in Benue State as gunmen carried out a deadly attack, resulting in the deaths of five people. The incident occurred on Tuesday night and left several others injured.
Sewuese Anene, the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, confirmed the attack and the casualties. She also mentioned that another attack took place in the Mbachohon community in Gwer-West Local Government. However, details about the Mbachohon incident were not immediately available.
Unconfirmed reports suggested that six individuals lost their lives in the Mbachohon attack. The authorities are responding to these attacks by deploying additional security personnel to the affected areas with the aim of restoring peace.
