In a dramatic incident, a private jet with registration number 5N-AMM, carrying the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and his entourage, crash-landed in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday evening. Thankfully, all three cabin crew members and the seven passengers on board were safely rescued from the damaged aircraft.
According to a preliminary report on the incident, the aircraft skidded off the runway and ended up in a nearby bush. The control tower lost communication with the aircraft shortly after landing, prompting an immediate response from the airport’s emergency teams.
The report confirmed that there were no fatalities as a result of the incident. The runway lighting system was operational at the time of arrival, but the cause of the crash-landing is yet to be determined.
Following a brief emergency meeting with department heads on the ground, it was established that further investigation is needed to understand the incident fully. The aircraft remains in the bush adjacent to runway 22 as security personnel, airport safety teams, and the Nigerian Air Force team remain on standby for safety and cover.
