Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, the Osun monarch and Olowu of Kuta, has cautioned against politicising the DSS’s operations.
He cautioned mischievous individuals to avoid baseless accusations and stories that could compromise the integrity of secret police officers and the ranks.
The traditional ruler revealed this in a statement released on Sunday in response to reports that Yusuf Bichi, the director general of the DSS, had reportedly embezzled some money.

Describing the news as unfounded and ridiculous, Oba Makama said, “It is a known fact that the DSS’s salary and allowances are special and cannot be fully categorised as civil servants because the services are essential.
“It’s also clear that the intention of the purveyors of the fake news is to cause disaffection between the officers and the DG.
”It is the prerogative of Mr President to choose who he wants to work with as far as the DSS DG position is concerned and at any time Mr president so desires,” he said, adding that the security of the country should be paramount now more than ever.

Oba Makama ordered individuals spreading misinformation to stop right once, even as he urged Nigerians to show their patriotism in order to solve the nation’s various problems.
