Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the President General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam and the Sultan of Sokoto, has urged political leaders to fear God and act in the best interests of their people, understanding that they will be held accountable for their stewardship.

Speaking to delegates at the Jama’atu Nasril Islam Central Council Meeting in Minna, the Sultan expressed his worry over the appalling conditions of the Niger State’s Suleja-Minna and Minna-Bida roads, calling them a “nightmare.”

He notably urged Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, to fix the terrible state of the roads.

“I would like to use this opportunity to inform the world or inform Nigerians and the government of Nigeria that the Suleja-Minna Road is still crying for attention. And of course, the Minna-Bida Road was a nightmare for us when we went to Bida. Therefore, I call on the Minister of Works to complete the work on Minna-Suleja Road. These roads that people use everyday are a nightmare.

“Almighty Allah would ask you. NNPC has started the Minna-Suleja Road. Why are you not completing it?”

The Sultan applauded the government’s efforts in addressing security difficulties, despite the obstacles presented by the Covid-19 outbreak and security worries.
