LP National Chairman, Julius Abure Opens Up On Arrest Rumours

Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has refuted reports that he has been arrested.

According to a story that surfaced on Wednesday, Abure was reportedly arrested and held on Monday by agents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command for allegedly engaging in fraud related to the party’s Plateau State gubernatorial primary.

According to the article, Abure was the subject of a criminal complaint filed by Yohanna Margif, who accused him of forgery, which led to his alleged detention.

In a criminal complaint filed with the police, Magif, an LP candidate for governor of Plateau State in 2023, claimed that Abure had falsified his signature on a letter he was supposed to have sent withdrawing from the governorship primary.

According to the article, the police acquired the troubled LP chairman’s statement and subsequently released him on bail.

Additionally, it said that after confirmation by the Chief Registrar of the Federal Capital Territory’s High Court, the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), which looked into the case, apparently that Abure be charged. (FCT).

However, Abure claimed that he had never been arrested by the police or any other security organisation in an interview with Channels Television on Thursday.
