After serving his second term as governor, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has made it clear that he does not intend to run for any political office.

The declaration was made during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels TV, which followed the Supreme Court’s confirmation of Governor Sule’s triumph.

David Ombugadu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor, filed an appeal, but it was denied by a five-member panel of justices chaired by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun on the grounds that it was without substance.

“I came in only to be a governor,” declared Governor Sule. I did not enter to hold the position of chairman, senator, or representative in the House of Representatives. For such offices, I don’t have any dreams.

“I have no dream of becoming even president. I have no dreams for that. I can tell you categorically that Abdullahi Sule would not go for Senate after leaving office. By the time I finish my eight years I can do whatever I want to do.

“You can take it from me confidently that I have no intention to run for the office of a senator. You can keep this tape and play it one day.”
