The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has taken decisive steps to regulate media coverage at the burial ceremony of late actor Jnr Pope, who tragically passed away on April 10 while on the set of ‘Other Side of Life’ produced by Adanma Luke.

AGN President Emeka Rollas recently announced via Instagram that unauthorized photography and video recordings would be prohibited at the ceremony. Designating 30 representatives from five states – Delta, Imo, Abia, Anambra, and Enugu – the guild is ensuring comprehensive participation in the funeral arrangements.

Rollas emphasized the need for press and bloggers intending to cover the event to obtain accreditation from Jnr Pope’s family beforehand. He stressed the guild’s commitment to honoring their departed colleague without unnecessary media intrusions.

Acknowledging the support received, Rollas extended gratitude to individuals including Peter Aniekwe Udogalanya, Maureen Gwacham, Peter Ilfeanyi Uzokwe, Chief Kenneth Ifekudu (Agbalanze), and Lady Ada Anene (Ada Ozubulu).

The burial arrangements, previously announced by the family in April, have been meticulously planned. Commencing with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State, the proceedings are set to continue with another requiem mass at Christ the King Catholic Parish in G.R.A, Enugu, on May 13.

Tributes and a candlelight event are scheduled for May 14 at the Amadeo Event Center in Enugu, followed by a wake on May 16 at Jnr Pope’s hometown, Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukkaa, Igboetiti LGA of Enugu State.

The interment, preceded by a burial mass at St. Peter’s Parish, Ukehe, will take place on May 17, with a final thanksgiving mass planned for Sunday, May 19, at St. Peter’s Parish Ukche Nsukkaa, Igboetiti LGA, Enugu.
