As part of celebrations to mark one year in office, Abia State Governor Alex Otti has asked for prayers for the advancement of his administration and the state.

The governor made the following statement on Sunday during an interdenominational church service in Umuahia, the state capital, to commemorate his one anniversary: “We are not here celebrating, but only saying, thank you, Jesus.” We are here to express our gratitude to God, who assumed control, and the voters who chose us. Serving God and the people is something we do without hesitation.

“We are poised to do the right thing, no matter whose ox is gored.”
