The Labour Party’s nominee for president, Peter Obi, has voiced worries over the Second Niger Bridge in Asaba, Delta State, being vandalised.
Obi’s remarks follow the release of a widely circulated video revealing the bridge’s destruction, which was posted by a social media influencer going by the handle Lord Zeus.
A video that went viral on social media on Monday had Lord Zeus explaining how some rail fittings that were put in place on the Second Niger bridge were removed and defaced by someone who appeared to be vandals.

Lord Zeus, who was standing on the bridge when he shared the footage on Monday, cautioned drivers to use extra caution when driving at night because to the uprooted railings. A few of the uprooted railings were also seen in the footage, laying on the bridge’s surface.
Obi, reacting to the video on Tuesday on his X handle, wrote, “I like to thank immensely the young man, Lord Zeus, driven by patriotism and courage to raise alarm on the vandalization of the second Niger bridge.
“I urge our traditional rulers, community leaders, market associations, and other stakeholders to mobilize a collective response.
He continued, “We must work together to educate and sensitize our people on the harmful effects of such criminality, which not only undermines our economic development but also puts lives at risk.
