2026 WCQ: We’re Under Pressure To Beat South Africa – Finidi

The Super Eagles’ head coach, Finidi George, stated that his players is aware of how critical it is for them to defeat South Africa in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.

The much awaited matchup takes place on Friday (today) at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo.

The Super Eagles need to defeat South Africa to restart their campaign after picking up just two points from their initial two games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

Finidi acknowledged that they would inevitably defeat Bafana Bafana.

“We’re prepared for the game. The players are focused, they have really worked hard to expect victory on Friday,” the former Ajax and Real Betis winger told reporters.

“We’ve put behind the AFCON clash in Ivory Coast. The AFCON and World Cup qualifiers are two different things. But overall, we’re condemned to win”.
