The 23 local government units in Rivers State have their new Caretaker Chairmen sworn in by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Governor Fubara performed the swearing-in on Wednesday at Government House’s Executive Council Chambers in Port Harcourt.
This comes after the State Assembly vetted and approved them.
Following the local government Chairmen’s term expiration on June 17, 2024, Governor Fubara had sent the names for verification and screening on Tuesday.

Abua/Odua LGA – Madigai Dickson
Ahoada East LGA – Hon. Happy Benneth
Ahoada West LGA – Mr. Daddy John Green
Akuku Toru LGA – Otonye Briggs
Andoni LGA – Reginald Ekaan
Asari Toru LGA – Orolosoma Amachree
Bonny LGA – Alabota Anengi Barasua
Degema LGA – Anthony Soberekon
